Vacations Work

Hey guys!

During the few weeks of vacation we had between the two semesters, we made a lot of progress in many different aspects of IceBreaker.

In development we had the following progress:

1. Built the app's database.

2. Connected the mobile app with the database and the VR web app.

3. Got Facebook's approval for the app to enable login via Facebook.

4. Created a function to set the avatars in the vr-world in good relative proportion.

We still have the following development tasks left:

1. Hide user's own avatar in vr-world.

2. Get gender property from Facebook api in order to create an avatar based on gender.

3. Adding questions on all topics (hometown, high-school, army, music, diet, etc...).

4. Adding vr-worlds for every question's topic.

5. Have your phone remember that you already logged in to the app in the past, so it won't ask you again.

6. Have all answers be visible when the input is empty (so that the user won't have to guess which options are available).

7. Have the "IceBreaker" Button only be available upon certain location and time.

8. Have timer coordinate between users who answer same answers.

9. Implementing our designer's design in the app.

10. Fixing future bugs.

11. Deploying app to google play store (:

Other Advancements:

During the vacation we conducted another user testing, a PANAS Questionnaire (The Positive and Negative Affect Schedule).

12 people participated in that test, 6 participants saw our VR world and 6 participants saw an equivalent static world.

The results of the test helped us to decide to continue with a VR world as our app data view.

We're now on the process of making a new user testing to see how we can improve user interaction in our app.

Last but not least, our designer started working on IceBreaker's screen designs, and we hope to reveal them soon in the blog so stay tuned.

Here is a small taste of the app's vr world.
